Hey!
I am Gabriella Lindland, a Calgary-based journalist, photographer, artist, and musician. My biggest goal is to turn what gets overlooked into something you can not look away from. My work lives in the intersection of grit and heart, where underground music, culture, and humanity converge. Whether I am filming a punk rock show, reworking thrifted pieces into something new, or writing about animal welfare and sustainability, I am driven by the same belief: that nothing is disposable, not stories, not people, not the world we build from.
Currently, I am writing for Big Kitty Magazine and The Calgary Journal, documenting local creatives and the grassroots movements that shape our city. I have a deep respect and passion for anything that is made with intention, which led me to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Communications, majoring in Journalism at Mount Royal University.
Throughout my time studying journalism, I’ve learned that storytelling is about what you feel when you really start to listen. The program taught me to look more closely, ask better questions, and understand that good reporting relies on empathy and trust.
